Thrift Guide
6 min read · Lundapur Journal
Searching for the “best thrift store in Pakistan” turns up a lot of options these days — the thrift market has grown fast across Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and most of it now lives online. But not every seller labelled “thrift” is offering genuine branded pieces, and not every good deal is what it looks like. Here is what actually separates a trustworthy thrift store from the rest, the red flags worth walking away from, and the questions to ask before you pay anyone.
What Makes a Thrift Store “Premium”
The word “thrift” gets used loosely in Pakistan’s online market. A genuinely premium thrift store sells authentic, pre-owned branded clothing that has been checked piece by piece — not unbranded stock, not replicas relabelled as “thrift”, and not random bulk-lot items passed on without anyone looking at them.
Premium does not mean flawless. Pre-owned clothing has a history, and small signs of wear are normal. What makes a store premium is that it tells you about that history before you buy, instead of letting you find out when the parcel arrives.
Signs of a Trustworthy Thrift Store
- Real product photos — every item is shown as the actual physical piece, including close-ups of labels, zips and any marks, not a stock catalogue image
- Transparent measurements — chest, length, sleeve, waist or inseam in inches, not just S/M/L guesses, because sizing varies between brands and decades
- Condition disclosed honestly — wear, fading, pilling or earlier repairs are named and located up front
- A track record — an established presence with consistent posting and real customer engagement over time
- Clear, written policies — payment method, delivery charge, delivery time and return terms are published before you order, not explained afterwards in a DM
- Straight answers about brands — a thrift store resells second-hand items; it should not claim to be an official or authorised seller of the brands it stocks
Red Flags to Walk Away From
- “Master copy”, “first copy” or “AAA” wording anywhere near the word “original” — these are replicas, whatever the caption says
- Catalogue or model photos instead of the real item — you cannot judge condition from a brand’s campaign image
- No condition information at all on a used item, or a refusal to send measurements when asked
- A price that makes no sense for the brand and condition — genuine pre-owned outerwear from major brands still carries real value
- No written return policy, or a policy that only appears after you have paid
- Pressure tactics such as “last hour” deals on a piece that is supposedly one of a kind
Questions to Ask Before You Pay
Whichever store you buy from, these five questions will tell you most of what you need to know:
- Are these photos of the exact item I will receive?
- What are the measurements, and are there any marks, stains or repairs?
- How long do I have to return it, what condition must it be in, and who pays the return postage?
- What is the delivery charge, and how long does delivery take after payment?
- How do I pay, and whose name is the payment account in?
A trustworthy seller will answer all five without hesitation — and a good one will already have the answers written on the product page or in its policies.
Online vs. Physical Thrift Stores in Pakistan
Many of Pakistan’s best thrift sellers now operate primarily online rather than from physical storefronts — it is simply more practical for a category where every piece is unique and stock turns over constantly. Selling online is not a red flag by itself, as long as the seller is transparent, publishes its policies and has a genuine history of fulfilling orders.
What to Expect From Lundapur
Lundapur is a Karachi-based online thrift store in Pakistan for authentic pre-owned branded clothing — mainly jackets, windbreakers, tops, footwear and caps and accessories from brands such as The North Face, Columbia, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Crocs. Here is exactly how we work:
- Every piece is inspected in daylight, inside and out, then sanitised and graded honestly. We do not wash, dry clean or repair items — any wear or earlier repair is described on the product page.
- Every photo is ours, taken of the actual item for sale.
- Almost everything is one of a kind — once a piece sells, there is not another one.
- Delivery is a flat Rs 650 anywhere in Pakistan. Parcels are dispatched once payment clears and usually arrive in three to five working days.
- Payment is by direct bank transfer, with the account details shown at checkout. We do not offer cash on delivery.
- Returns and exchanges are accepted within two days of delivery for unworn, unwashed items with tags attached; return postage is paid by the customer, and refunds are processed within seven working days.
- We are independent — Lundapur is not affiliated with, or authorised by, any of the brands we resell.
Everything above is set out in full in our policies and our authenticity and sourcing notice.

Is thrift clothing in Pakistan original?
It can be, but it depends entirely on the seller. Genuine thrift is pre-owned clothing that was originally sold by the brand; a replica stays a replica even if it is called “thrift”. Look for real photos of labels and care tags, honest condition notes and a seller who does not use “master copy” language.
Can I return a thrifted item?
Only if the store has a written return policy — always check it before you pay. At Lundapur you can return or exchange within two days of delivery if the item is unworn, unwashed and still has its tags.
Is it safe to pay in advance?
Many online thrift stores in Pakistan ask for payment in advance. Before you transfer anything, make sure the store has published its policies and contact details, and only pay into the account shown at checkout or in your order confirmation.
Final Thoughts
The “best” thrift store is not the one with the lowest prices — it is the one that is honest about what you are actually getting. Look for transparency, real photos and a genuine track record before you buy, whether that is from Lundapur or anywhere else. When you are ready, browse everything currently in the shop.
